big life update: i have moved to norfolk!
i wanted to come here ages ago and just get this entire stressful situation off my chest! but i've been here for nearly a month now and i'm over it. to sum up: property solicitors are my newest enemy. they took absolutely forever to finalise everything and we were being evicted from our current flat and it was getting dangerously close to the start date of my new job!
we ended up moving in on the friday, which took the entire weekend as we hired a van and did everything ourselves, and i started my new (later i would learn to be absolutely horrible) job on the following monday. as i said, it's been about a month now and i think my body has only just started to settle and i can finally (almost) sleep through the night. and that's only after quitting the job lol because it was actually effecting multiple aspects of my life. is it too hard to create a decent, respectable work environment? i'm not going into it all. i'm trying to forget i ever worked there.
now i'm just focusing on our new house and having the time to decorate, make plans and write! even work on this website which i haven't touched in months! so much has happened over the last like two months alone, no wonder it took me so long to settle.
anyway, norfolk is lovely. there is such a difference between here and london. people actually smile at you when you walk by. there are countless places to go for a quiet walk among nature. the town centre is so cute. it has everything i need except a uniqlo which i'm really hoping someone is currently working on making happen. i've just found a potential running route which i'm excited to start up again.
for a while there, and sometimes still because my seasonal affective disorder is so bad, it felt like everything was going wrong, that maybe buying a house in norfolk was a mistake, but this town and the house is better than i could have imagined, so it's probably just the weather, the adjustment and everything else.
i can't wait to get these ugly wallpapers down and really start decorating and making some of my homey dreams come true! i'll give you house updates soon hehe.
